Before I got Reggie, I assumed all dogs were the same. I’ve had 4 other family dogs throughout my life and in past experience, they ate whatever you gave them. So imagine my surprise when my Pug – a dog who has the stereotype of being a little… shall we say round? – is the fussiest little pupper I have ever come across! Honestly, if I’m not watching him eat and if that food doesn’t have at least one extra then Reggie will not even entertain it. That was until we came across our saving grace in Pure Pet Food.
Now for those of you who haven’t heard about Pure Pet Food* it’s about to change the game – especially if you have a fussy dog like myself. Over the past year and a half, I’m not exaggerating when I say we have tried maybe 20 different types of dog food before we found one that Reggie will just about tolerate, and even then he sometimes decides he just doesn’t want it. Now I know a lot of you are probably reading this thinking “he’s just a dog, he’ll eventually eat if he’s hungry” and to those people, I will say I know, I have a problem alright! Take a look at my Twitter or his Instagram that I put way too much time into, for evidence of this – he’s essentially my child and he definitely would rather go hungry, maybe his Instagram followers have gone to his head and he is now the Mariah Carey of the Pug world. But I digress, we’ve finally found a food that works every time!
Pure is a dehydrated meal that you add water to when your pet is ready to chow down. But why dehydration you ask? Well, by dehydrating the food and removing the moisture it locks in the nutrients and goodness while preserving it, so it’s always fresh when you make it up in 15 minutes. I also am a big fan of the fact that the food is made in a human grade factory, with nothing but fresh and raw ingredients, which means if you really wanted to it would be safe for you and me to eat. Which makes complete sense, I mean dogs are your best friend in life, you want to keep them as healthy as possible so why would you skimp on something like food that is so important to their everyday. Another pro for us is that inside every 4kg box of Pure, you get 16kg of fresh food once it has been rehydrated, meaning it saves us plenty of space. Reggie also goes to Day Care while Matt and I are at work, so in the morning we can simply pack him a little bag of food that can be made up for him when he gets there, and we don’t have to worry about him refusing to eat.
So, I hear you ask, is there actually anything bad with Pure? And to that, I will say the only thing we found to be a slight inconvenience is the time it takes to rehydrate the food, especially now we know Reggie likes it, he gets impatient with having to wait 15 minutes. But it’s a very small price to pay when we know it’s fresh food, that’s good for him and most of all, that he actually likes!
I really can’t recommend it enough, and since I received my starter pack from Pure I went out and purchased a few other flavours myself. I’ve found Reggie’s absolute favourite is the Chicken Delicious Fussy Dog Recipe – a definite winner for your finicky friend. So what are you waiting for! Go ahead and buy your pooch a dinner they deserve, and the lovely people at Pure are even giving you a huge 40% off starter packs and free shipping simply click here.
Now, all we need to work on is Reggie eating without me having to watch over him and we’ll be good to go!

My dog has a very sensitive tummy, can’t eat chicken what would you recommend?
thankyou.
Most of Pure’s pet food is perfect for dogs with a sensitive tummy. I think the key is to introduce slowly to start with and give them more and more over a week or so. Reggie really loves chicken, but they also have an amazing Fish Supper one that Reggie x
