There are seldom things I love more than having a day free to myself where I can pamper to my heart’s content. Unfortunately, I’m a 9-5 working girl (read all about the pamper struggle here) so I have to reserve these precious moments for the weekend or holidays. So you can imagine my delight when Mr Postman dropped a sizeable box through my door filled with goodies from Molton Brown’s Heavenly Gingerlily collection, to transport me to paradise on a gloomy British day.
The beautifully packaged gift box contained three of their Heavenly Gingerlily products* to help me achieve my summer ready skin (if I can’t have summer weather, you can bet I will have it in my bathroom). When I opened the box I was met with a spicy- yet sweet- ginger and floral scent. What I love most about Molton Brown fragrances is that they are easily transferable as male and female scents, and they get the balance just right so they are not overpowering but are long lasting on the skin.
For Step 1 of my pamper pack I have the cleansing Gingerlily Body wash, this retails for £18 for 300ml. Sure, you can buy cheaper body washes, and some people may think it is insane to buy something so disposable for nearly £20, but trust me, the quality is everything! It is perfect for a luxurious night in or adding a pinch of glamour to your everyday routine. I usually use the Rhubarb and Rose shower gel, but I can definitely see this replacing it for the foreseeable future. Also, a little goes a long way, and just a small amount lathers up into a rich foam.
Exfoliating with the Heavenly Gingerlily Caressing Body Polish is next for Step 2. As an avid fake tan lover, this has become my new best friend. There is no better way of spotting a fake tan amateur, than when they have a patchy fake tan. This is something I am always conscious of, so I find myself exfoliating a minimum of 3 times a week. I also find that this helps prolong your tan and keep pesky ingrown hairs at bay. I usually struggle to find the perfect combination of moisturising and coarseness in my exfoliators, but this had a great mix. It has enriching tamanu nut oil and lily extract to help protect your skin as the micro-exfoliating Tahitian volcanic sand gets to work! Now all of that sounds super fancy, and probably means nothing to you or I, but it basically doesn’t scratch 7 layers of your skin off, and makes it feel soft after – You’re welcome!
Finally, Step 3 is to lock in and add moisture to your skin. The Gingerlily Nourishing Body Lotion is the perfect way to finish the routine by adding that signature long-lasting Gingerlily fragrance in an intensive moisturising way. This again is ideal for prolonging a tan – real or natural – and keeps your skin feeling amazing. This is available for £25 for 300ml and just like the rest of the range, a little goes a long way.
Just give me a grass skirt and some coconuts, and transport me to a paradise island – I think I’m ready!
