I’m sure I have mentioned maybe once or twice my love for lush, so as soon as I walked past the Stratford store this week and spied the new Christmas collection I knew I had a few purchases to make. So I bought 7 things altogether, a mixture of ones I have tried before and some new ones to review. I also finally have a use for my cute little wire baskets from H&M! I like how they are easy to get to, and they just fill my room with that iconic lush smell.
Photo Heavy Post!
So first up is the Creamy Candy bubble bar, I have always seen this in the shops but for some reason just never tried it, I’m a big fan of the Melting Marshmallow Moment, and thought it smelt really similar so never thought to defer until now – a group of people were standing in front of my Marshmallow Moment so I decided to make a grab for this instead and I’m so glad I did. It’s pretty sizeable so I reckon I have a couple of uses of this one (I like to mix my lush bits together to make my own smells!)
The next thing I made a grab for was one of my all time favourites The Comforter. I love everything about this one, it’s huge so lasts a while, and turns my bath into a lovely pink colour with so many bubbles! It is also one of those that has a smell that lasts for hours, and I love once I’ve had a bath the scent fills my house and everyone comments on it.
The third thing I picked up, looks like a distant relative to The Comforter, it is called Brightside, and I have never seen it before but apparently it has been around for a little while. As I mentioned above, I love The Comforter so much, and I was expecting just as much from this one, but the smell is very orangey and I’m not entirely sold on it yet, so I’ll give it a go and if not, I’m sure I can palm it off to a member of my family.
Fifth is one of my favs from last Christmas – So White. These went into the sale after Christmas last year, and with no word of a lie I bought 10, I love them so much. It smells like apples and once it is dropped into the bath it explodes into a rose coloured centre. The smell isn’t a traditional Christmas smell, but I am pretty glad about that, one smell I hate the most is Cranberry, and for some reason every Christmas product usually features it.
Next up is Dragons Egg, another lush classic. This bath bomb is crazy, it crackles and pops as soon as you drop it in and fizzes into a bright orange colour with the addition of bright coloured confetti, this is another one with a lingering smell, and I am not usually one for citrus but there is something about this one that I can overlook.
Second from last is another part of the Lush Christmas collection – Butterbear. I had such high hopes for this one, it reminded me a little of Ickle Baby Bot and it really does smell delicious, the predominant scent being coco butter – which we all know is great for your skin, but this just didn’t work for me. I think it has something to do with the colour, I like there to be almost a show with my bath products, and my favourite part is seeing all of the colours and strong smells and this just lacks a little in both. It also didn’t really make my skin seem any softer so a little disappointed with this one. It is incredibly cute though, and I can imagine if you had kids or you didn’t like over powering smells then it would be great.
And last up is Father Christmas himself. I think it might just be my nose I feel like he smells different this year, which in all honesty is what made me buy him again. It says on the website that it is the same scent as Snow Fairy – which I can definitely tell. But I don’t know if it is different from last year, maybe someone can shed some light on that one for me 🙂 What is the same as last year though is the bright colours that spin out in shades of red and green. How Christmassy!
So that is my rather large Lush haul, I can’t wait to make my way through some of the newer ones, and I definitely have my eye on Northern Lights as my next purchase!
So what are your favourite products from Lush? Has anyone got any recommendations for my next haul?
