So put yourself in my position, you’ve been working all day, it’s hot, and you’ve already had to endure one overcrowded tube journey, you’re on the final stretch home only to find out your train has been delayed… Great! Then you look up and right above your train platform is a Lush store calling out for you – And you can bet your fizz banger bath ballistic I answered. So here is another haul, of things that I probably don’t need, but in my head are fully justified!
I’ve been having some dramas with my hair lately, it feels constantly weighed down from product and gets oily far too quickly. I think it is the sheer amount of chemicals that are found in my fancy shampoos and conditioners, so I thought I’d try a more natural approach. First up, I decided on a shampoo bar. I’ve never tried these before, but I went with one that I had heard a lot of hype about Jason and the Argan Oil. This smells amazing, I’ve mentioned before I am a big fan of rose scents so this was right up my street. I will say though, these take a little getting use to. I used mine for the first time last night and found rubbing it directly onto my hair works better than in the palm of my hands. It has also left my hair incredibly shiny and soft- what’s not to love.

The next shampoo bar I went for was Brazilliant. True to Lush standard, it also smells amazing – made from a base of oranges and ylang ylang oil it smells extremely citrusy and just like a tropical cocktail! So delicious. I haven’t tried this one yet, but the shop assistant said it was extremely moisturising and sometimes she uses it alone without a conditioner. I can just imagine these shampoo bars to be the perfect travel companion, as you won’t have to worry about any spillage and have the benefit of being more compact than a bottle.

If you’re like me, and you don’t think you could use just a shampoo on its own then the Jungle solid conditioner is for you. Another that is a little tricky to use, and once again found that running the bar through the lengths of my hair worked considerably better than in the palm of my hands. It doesn’t leave much residue when using, so you just have to trust that it has worked and is a little difficult to keep hold of in such slippery conditions. But it is all worth it for the smell alone. It is super tropical smelling and is made with coco butter and banana- to name a few ingredients- so you can imagine the shine on your hair!

So the shampoo bars and solid conditioner have completely won me over, and I will 100% be popping a few in my toiletries bag on holiday, but at heart, I don’t care for convenience, I like taking my time (just ask Matt!) which is why I decided to pick up the BEST smelling shampoo in the world, Curly Wurly. This stuff is so bizarre, it comes in a huge tub with these massive chunks of desiccated coconut- and the smell hits you the minute you remove the lid. I am yet to use it, but it is meant to deliver soft and moisturised hair, which is always a plus in my books.

My final product is a repurchase, but I haven’t used it for over a year, and I can’t honestly remember why I stopped. H’Suan Wen Hua is a hair moisturiser that is guaranteed to leave you hair feeling amazing. Now, I’m not sure if any of you have tried this, so I hope I’m not the only one, but I find the application process so weird! You apply it to dry hair and leave it for 20 minutes, but it just feels so alien to me rubbing this into my dry hair. Putting that to one side, it is made with Bay Leaf (which you can definitely smell) and bananas. Now I’ve rediscovered this, I don’t think I’ll be letting it go again!

So I hope you’ve enjoyed the hair part of my lush haul, and look out for my part two all about bath and body products coming shortly! And let me know if you have tried any of the Lush hair range 🙂

It is extremely strange! But you just kind of have to stick with it. It lathers up better than some of my other shampoos now I’ve got the hang of it. Still struggling with the solid conditioner though 🙁 xx
I love Lush, I’ve never tried the conditioners before though, that Jungle one looks pretty cool 🙂
