As always, I am a few days late with this post, but it has taken me a while to collect enough bits to be considered as ’empties’ because I rarely finish products, I usually just give them away or they get thrown. So here are my January empties that I hope will help you all if you are considering buying them.
So first up is my beloved Chanel loose powder, I stupidly decided that I wanted to try a new powder – I decided on Vichy dermablend setting powder – and I am so disappointed! It feels cakey on my face, and it really has no staying power, I know it has had a lot of hype surrounding it, and has loads of people who really ship it, but for me, it is Chanel all the way, and I have already placed a Boots order, so hopefully we will be reunited soon! As the saying goes, if it ain’t broken, don’t try and fix it.

Next up is Rich Liquid by Illamasqua, I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed with a brand! And not because the product isn’t good, I actually really like this foundation, its high coverage, long lasting and creamy, so what’s wrong with it? I got matched the complete wrong colour! 🙁 It is so orange on my skin, and as the woman was matching me I made the point of saying and she said it was the lighting in the shop. I ended up having to buy a paler colour to mix this with just so I could use it up. But all in all it is a solid foundation that covers a multitude of sins – just make sure you get the right colour.

Moving on to tanning products, I tan religiously, I am unfairly pale meaning I have to tan multiple times a week, so I get through quite a lot of it. I normally use St Tropez, but had been recommended this one by a friend, claiming to be just as good. For the price of this, the formula isn’t bad. My problem comes from the lasting power. No matter how much I moisturise I look like a scaly snake. I think this is a good solution for someone who doesn’t tan everyday, but for me it’s not natural enough to wear on a daily basis.

Another tanning product in the form of my weekly tan St Tropez Luxury Oil. I have mentioned this in a previous post about my undying love for this product. Its moisturising, the colour is natural and it lasts about a week if you take care. Once again with all great things, this is a little more on the pricier side, but if you’re a tanner like myself then it is one to try.

Finally is my Bumble and Bumble quenching masque. I wrote a post on this recently confessing my love, this lasted 2 uses, until it was all gone. Now I know I have thick hair but seriously! 2 uses and honestly it isn’t any different from masques i’ve used for £5.

I have a next post coming up of my January favourites, but I hope this has helped if you are looking to purchase any of the above, and if anyone has any recommendations for me then they are much appreciated 🙂
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, and are enjoying February so far.

Great post! 🙂
Bumble and Bumble is my favourite mask!
Nikoleta, xoxo.
Thank you Nikoleta, It was good, but for only two uses is really not great value for money. I have just purchased a Wella one which is a bit larger, so hopefully lasts a bit longer xxx
Hi Courtney,
I have heard a lot of good things about the Chanel powder. If you say it’s good and hopefully not paid to say that, then I should check it out. thanks for sharing.

Hi Jo,
Sorry for your concern, but all these products have been purchased by myself. If I have been gifted anything then it is clearly marked with a * and will say so in the content of the post. Also I will only ever accept products that I find suit myself, and I have always been truthful in my reviews, if I don’t like it I will say. And as for being paid to write that I like a product, I simply would never do that. I hope this has cleared things up for you.
As much as I would love for somebody to send me a constant supply of Chanel, I unfortunately have had no takers! 🙂 xxx
I’m a serial tanner and swear by Laurens Way! However I quite like the sound of Luxury oil by St Tropez xx

I’ve recently just received the godsend of all products! It’s called Tan Eraser I think, but it buffs away your old tan so easily. If you’re a fellow tan addict definitely have a look 🙂 I have never tried Lauren’s Way before, I had heard of it, but never too many reviews xxx
I have been loving reading empties lately! The foundation by illamasqua sounds like a foundation I would want! So might have to try this in the future x
I always love reading peoples empties, it’s nice to know if something is actually going to be worth while before you buy it. The Rich Liquid foundation is amazing for covering a multitude of sins, but for when the weather gets a little warmer, I like using their skin base! So have a look at that one too 🙂 xxx
