Matt and I have had a lot to celebrate lately, we both got new jobs, I graduated university with a first class honours, we have just started our search for our first home together, we welcomed our beautiful baby niece into the world and Matt even published his first book! So it’s been a very busy year already, and we needed a date night to just spend sometime together. We decided that we wanted to go to one of our favourites, Miller & Carter for our evening.
Miller & Carter is renowned for their steak dishes and stylish dining experiences, and most importantly is just down the road from Matt so is really easy for us to get to once we have both had busy days at work! They also have a variety of other dishes, so if you aren’t a steak fan, i’m sure there would be something else on their menu you’d like.
We started our meals by ordering some cocktails! Both of us aren’t really alcohol drinkers, so opted for a mocktail each. I decided to go for a Virgin Mojito (Apple juice, soda, sugar, mint and lime) whereas Matt ordered a Berry Fizz (Blueberry, blackberry and lemonade); both were delicious and really reasonably priced.
We then moved on to our starters, we decided to share the cheesy garlic bread and were both surprised when it turned up on a gigantic plate! I’m sure we remember it being much smaller last time but who’s complaining! For our main courses we both decided to go for steak, I ordered the Sirloin with mash and onion loaf, and Matt ordered the Rump with regular fries. I think it was safe to say we both left incredibly full, but had a really lovely evening, celebrating our good fortune and wondering what else could possibly be in store!
Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and have decided to make this more of a regular thing, and have a date night every Monday. I’d definitely recommend anyone going to Miller & Carter if you have never been before.
What is your ideal date night?
