Well this week has been just like any other in terms of workload! But with the addition of my Macbook Air deciding to bloody break! 🙁 Luckily super Matt came to the rescue and we *think* he has fixed it. So my Monday date night post is coming slightly later than expected! But anyway, we decided that this week would would try something new and go to All Star Lanes in Stratford.
I had personally not heard too much of All Star Lanes before, I had seen it as we walked straight past it to go to GBK, but it was mentioned that our Christmas meal might be held here, so I thought I would be a guinea pig and trial it for everyone to report back.
So what I gathered from All Star Lanes, is that it is an American Diner styled restaurant and bar, with the addition of a bowling alley. I can’t speak for the bowling as we did not try that out but the food and cocktails were amazing. The menu is fairly small, but to me this normally implies it’s cooked really well. We decided to skip starters and head to mains, as having a quick browse through Instagram showed us the portion sizes were pretty generous. For drinks I ordered a Virgin & Elderflower Julep, which has apple juice, mint, elderflower and lemon juice, and Matt just ordered a regular Coke.
Then it was time for our mains, it wasn’t extremely busy in Stratford on a Monday night so we did not have to wait very long at all, and before we knew it our burgers were served up to us. I decided to go for the King Pin burger, which was huge! It was a maple bacon & cheese burger with the addition of a mac and cheese croquette, which was served with sweet potato fries; Matt decided to have a normal bacon and cheese burger with fries which he said was equally delicious.
I really enjoyed the food here and cannot wait to come back for my christmas meal, as the promise of bowling and karaoke is on the cards! The only thing I will say is the plates that the burgers come on are so tiny! So it was hard to keep everything on the plate, especially with the size of the burger, but apart from that it was lovely.
Have you ever been to All Star Lanes before?
