I never thought my skin was bad, sure, I get the occasional face demon, but in general I really try to look after my skin. I always take my make up off, I moisturise and use toner, but yet my skin was still a little lack lustre. Maybe that’s what being in your 20’s and working full time does to you, you lose your glow. So I was on a mission to get it back, and with the help of the lovelies at Skinade I was pleasantly surprised with the results.
I’ve been meaning to write this post for, oh, I don’t know, 2 months now… Yeah bad planning on my part but I’ve finally got round to showing you what I bought when I went to Florida. I had specific sights set in my mind, I was heading to Bath and Body works for their Semi-Annual Sale, and despite what Matt says, I could and would squeeze 10 candles into my suitcase, and his negativity could be checked in at baggage!
Unfortunately, my day didn’t start off quite how I had planned, after having the previous day off for my birthday, I had completely forgot that London was about to go into meltdown as all of the tubes had ground to a stop. Cue a sad me, trying to navigate to work with street signs and a little bit of hope (I still don’t know how I did it!), finishing work and taking a £50 cab from Liverpool Street to Holborn, but finally arriving- albeit a tiny bit late – to the Shaftsbury Theatre to finally see Memphis the Musical!
Put your Mickey ears on guys, I’m back and here with a Disney post! If you haven’t kept up with my Instagram, then you may not know that for the past few weeks I’ve been relaxing in Florida. It was absolutely incredible, and truth be told I’m a little gutted to be home, but I do return with a whole new bag of memories… and a few bags from bath and body works but that’s another post!
As promised, here is the second part of my Lush haul from Liverpool Street station. If you haven’t had the chance to read part one yet, go take a look at it here. For everyone else, here is the bath and body edition!
So put yourself in my position, you’ve been working all day, it’s hot, and you’ve already had to endure one overcrowded tube journey, you’re on the final stretch home only to find out your train has been delayed… Great! Then you look up and right above your train platform is a Lush store calling out for you – And you can bet your fizz banger bath ballistic I answered. So here is another haul, of things that I probably don’t need, but in my head are fully justified!
Okay, so maybe “must have” is a bit of a stretch, but when you’re travelling – especially flying – for a long period of time, you want to do whatever to make you feel comfortable. So here are my top 7 travel accessories, that you can guarantee to find in my carry on!
Ooops, it’s been over 2 weeks since my last post. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you would have noticed that one of my resolutions for this year was to try and post more frequently, but I have metaphorically put two fingers up to that and said no I’m actually going to enjoy having a little break, and boy did I revel in it. So that’s where this is all going to start, the importance of being able to say no, be selfish and make some time for yourself. This particular thought jumped at me as I was delayed on the central line for 30 minutes, in this time I worked out that without delays I spend 6 hours of my week on a train – 6 hours! So by the time I get home, I barely have enough time to eat dinner, let alone relax. So I took it upon myself to design the ultimate pamper routine, long enough to leave you feeling like your old self, but not so long that you’ll pay for it the next day!
Something that really motivates me to work is a pretty and tidy workspace. I’m always on Pinterest looking for inspiration, and I think one recurring theme is fresh cut flowers. Not only does this give the benefit of a lovely smell, it looks quite nice too. So on a Saturday morning, I woke up to a huge white box from The Flower Studio filled to the brim with a gorgeous bouquet.
As always, I am a few days late with this post, but it has taken me a while to collect enough bits to be considered as ’empties’ because I rarely finish products, I usually just give them away or they get thrown. So here are my January empties that I hope will help you all if you are considering buying them.
