The sun has been shining, my scarf and gloves have been put away (maybe only temporarily, but a girl can dream) and I’ve had a refresh of my house. I feel like Spring has well and truly sprung in Essex, and that means I can now get excited about putting together my new season wardrobe!
Well, it looks like the winter weather is showing no signs of slowing down just yet. So it has got me thinking about ways to stay warm and cosy, but not have to look like a bundled up marshmallow at the same time!
Ooops, it’s been over 2 weeks since my last post. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you would have noticed that one of my resolutions for this year was to try and post more frequently, but I have metaphorically put two fingers up to that and said no I’m actually going to enjoy having a little break, and boy did I revel in it. So that’s where this is all going to start, the importance of being able to say no, be selfish and make some time for yourself. This particular thought jumped at me as I was delayed on the central line for 30 minutes, in this time I worked out that without delays I spend 6 hours of my week on a train – 6 hours! So by the time I get home, I barely have enough time to eat dinner, let alone relax. So I took it upon myself to design the ultimate pamper routine, long enough to leave you feeling like your old self, but not so long that you’ll pay for it the next day!
Last weekend, Matt and I decided to take a trip down to Bluewater for a spot of shopping. Our first port of call was popping into Lush as I heard all about their new Easter Collection. At this moment, Matt gave me a basket, told me to fill it up with whatever I wanted and to tell him when I was ready to pay – the phrase kid in a candy shop fits perfectly here. So here are my thoughts on the new collection, courtesy of my lovely one.
A little late to the party, as usual, but I couldn’t put this purchase off any longer. I finally bit the bullet and purchased some signature pieces from the Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Ready Set. I have been meaning to get some bits for a while now, but they are extremely hard to get hold of, selling only with a select few stockists – but hey ho, who ever complained about a little exclusivity. So this will be a little bit of a haul, and a little bit of a first impressions because I haven’t had time to give a full review.
A few weeks ago, Buckley London generously sent me some bits and pieces from their collection to try out. As a lover of jewellery, I happily obliged, and thought I would give you a little review about what I thought of them, seeing as it is so close to Mothers Day, or even get a special treat yourself. I’ll also add, I have bought some new camera equipment that I’m still getting use to, so if these pictures look a little strange, I’m just having a little learning curve, so stick with me 🙂
I’m sure I’m not the only one who virtual window shops for my latest beauty must haves. It’s a great way of showing you how much money you’re actually going to be spending, if it’s worth it, or if you really need another shade of plum lipstick (of course you do!). So at the beginning of the month, I look in my saved wish lists and decide what is going to make the cut. This is what I’ve gathered up this month.
I feel like I have managed to trick the world in to thinking that I am naturally quite a tan person, but in reality, only a small number of people know the truth – my skin is literally the colour of fresh snow. Now I am all about people embracing what they are born with, but for me, I don’t carry pale well, I don’t catch the sun, and I need a quick fix that I can use daily… Enter fake tan. Ah fake tan, we’ve had a love hate relationship for many years now, but I think I have finally cracked the perfect 3 step routine, for a flawless tan every time. So if you’re an avid tanner like me, this one is for you!
As always, I am a few days late with this post, but it has taken me a while to collect enough bits to be considered as ’empties’ because I rarely finish products, I usually just give them away or they get thrown. So here are my January empties that I hope will help you all if you are considering buying them.
